Signs of a malfunctioning CPAP
Some common issues people experience with CPAP machines are no on/off power, loud blower motors, irregular airflow, random loss of power, flashing error codes or onscreen messages such as “service required”. The number one culprit that is behind those problems is due to excessive moisture damage from heated humidifiers. The premature corrosion will cause havoc on CPAP motors. This damage inevitably leads them to become louder over time and eventually seizing up completely. Even if you do not have a humidifier, years of using a CPAP machine night after night, moving parts (blowers) will wear out regardless.
Depending on the make and model of your cpap machine, we can install new blowers (as available) or sometimes service the existing ones.
CPAP machine electronics are also extremely sensitive to dust and moisture contamination. Upon inspection, we first attempt to correct the issue by removing any visible corrosion caused by the contamination. If the issue is still not corrected, we will replace any damaged electronics as necessary (depending on availability) to ensure the devices are operating within manufacturers specifications. Once serviced, the CPAP machine will have a new life and provide many more nights of sound, quiet rest for much less than the cost of a new machine.
We can normally correct these problems on most Respironics, Philips, ResMed, Devilbiss Intellipap and other brands of CPAPs as well
